Our History

Advantage Machine & Tool Inc. was founded in 1992 by, Mike Kelly, as a sole proprietorship, and was incorporated effective January 1, 1996.

In 1992 there was a strong demand for quality machining service, due to an acute shortage of skilled machinists and the downsizing of many industries. ADVANTAGE MACHINE & TOOL INC. was formed to take advantage of the recognized trend and to capitalize on the contacts, and reliable reputation, that Mike Kelly had developed over many years.

Dave McCarthy joined the company in 1992 and became a shareholder in the company as Vice President in 1996. On January 1, 2004, Dave McCarthy bought Mike Kelly's shares in the company and became President/Owner of Advantage Machine & Tool Inc., and in February, 2004 Advantage Machine & Tool Inc. became ISO 9001:2000 certified. 

From the outset ADVANTAGE MACHINE & TOOL INC. has grown in leaps and bounds. Starting in a rented shop space, they outgrew their initial location within a year. A move to larger rented premises in the current location met with expansion and more space being leased. Finally in 1999, leasing was no longer viable, so an agreement was reached to purchase the premises and further expansion of office and plant facilities was undertaken.

The growth of ADVANTAGE MACHINE & TOOL INC. through their everyday business has been steady and solid, and with the experience gained in the paintball gun project, ADVANTAGE MACHINE & TOOL INC. has been able to offer custom manufacturing with their CNC equipment.

Advantage Machine & Tool Inc.’s management and production team represent a strong blend of complimentary skills and business experience. Dave McCarthy, President/Owner is a  licensed Tool & Die maker and a  “hands on” executive, spending a great deal of time on the production floor overseeing production and ensuring that customers orders are completed on time and are produced to the highest quality standards, enhancing the company's reputation.
